Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own
Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new

"making money online", and much of the information out there is just

I've put together a
lot of these ideas from thousands of hours discussing businesses for
sale with their owners. They've shared with me how their businesses
operate, how they make money online, how they built their businesses up
etc. They've given me access to their traffic stats, their earnings and
accounts and tax figures. Many even gave me access to their Adsense or
other "main earner" accounts. Some of those businesses were so
irresistible that I bought them. And sold them. And bought others. It's
a game. I love it.
Most of these
business ideas can be run from anywhere in the world, even the United
States, Australia and other non-English speaking countries. For
consistency sake all figures are quoted in US dollars.
Each method is
summarised in a single small para so appreciate it's not the complete
unabridged version. And, no, I haven't tried each one so out of the 101
business models to make money online 102 may be completely dud. But, I
do intend expanding - in due course - on some of the money-making ideas
that worked for me.

Judging by their behavior, most

it. We are creatures obsessed with money, partly for what it can buy,
but also as a thing of value in itself.
But
most people misunderstand money. They don't really know how to obtain
it, or how to hold onto it once they have it.
If you're interested in
getting rich, I'm going to give you the simplest formula for doing so.
In fact, if you follow it you're virtually guaranteed to build enough
wealth to get you into the top 5% of society. As the shampoo
advertisement says: "It won't happen overnight, but it will happen".
The hardest way to get rich
Before
I go into my formula, let me tell you about hard ways to get rich.
One of the hardest is to be
born into it. Of course, if you happen to enter this world as a Hilton,
a Gates or a Windsor, then life is sweet. But since 99.9999% of the
population aren't that lucky, I'm assuming you didn't win that
particular lottery.
And speaking of lotteries,
gambling is another very difficult way to get rich. Sure, some people
buy a lottery ticket and win big, but most don't. You can gamble your
entire life and you'll most likely end up broke rather than wealthy.
When I was younger, I
thought the easiest way to get rich was to become famous through some
kind of creative act. Stephen King got rich writing horror novels, so
why not me?
I'm now much wiser and
realize that the vast majority of novelists never even get published.
Of those who do, most wallow in obscurity. Only very few make it
anywhere near the best-seller list, and only one in a million will
achieve any kind of serious wealth.
The same fate awaits the
majority of musicians, software company founders, sportspeople and
website creator. For every Google that makes its owners billions, there
are a million websites that lose money. Creativity is the most fun and
rewarding way to get rich, but it's also a very difficult way.
The reason the media raves
about and idolizes those who've built wealth through creativity is
because they're so rare. You don't hear about the vast majority who
wallow in obscurity and poor pay, because they're not interesting.
"Young genius makes $1 billion from website" is a great headline "Ten
thousand young geniuses make nothing from their hard work" isn't.
I'm not saying you
shouldn't keep your dreams alive. It's one of the best parts of life.
But this article isn't about the most fun way to try and get rich -
it's about the easiest way.
All of us
have heard of 'get rich quick schemes' which are termed that for a very
good reason they are often put together by those who are willing to
take your money for promises that then don't pay off.
In the worst case scenario, they take your money and run. Or at least
take it, invest it in something high-risk, and have no obligation to
you or others when all of the money is lost. This isn't to suggest that
you should never take a risk in investing, but it is to say that you
should carefully consider any kind of instant wealth promises by asking
yourself a few questions.
First, realize that if someone is offering you a get-rich-quick
opportunity, it is because they need your money in order to help
themselves to get rich. There may be a possibility that you will earn
something as well, but really what most of these plans entail is
getting you to provide the capital needed for something other
investment companies those with expert staffs or lawyers are not
willing to invest in themselves. Think about it if what they have to
offer you were truly a 'secret,' why would they share it with you? They
are usually either selling you a product or wanting to use your money
to invest in their risky idea.
Second, who is the person or firm that is offering you this
opportunity? What is their history and what are their credentials that
would make them an expert that you should trust? Just as you wouldn't
necessarily buy a new electronics device or car without checking on the
industry knowledge about the item, don't invest with a company or
person without doing the same thing. Ask for copies of annual reports
for the last years, or see if they are available online. Legitimate
companies will have no problem giving you this information. If you are
considering investing your money with an individual, then your task to
ensure your investment is safe is a bit more difficult. Ask for
licenses, credentials and references from the person. Check with local
and national agencies such as the Better Business Bureau or the trade
commissions to see if any complaints have been made against the person.
Making
Sense Out Of Google AdSense?
Before signing up to AdSense,
its important to understand what youre signing up to. Many of the
principles and strategies that I describe in this book make the most of
the way that AdSense works. If you can understand where AdSense are
getting their ads, how they assign those ads to Web pages and how they
fix the prices for clicks on those ads or for ad appearances on those
pages, youll be in a great position to manipulate AdSense in a way that
gives you maximum revenues.
Unfortunately, I cant really
do that.
Much of the way that Google
runs the AdSense program is kept under wraps. I know a few things and
enough to do a great deal with our AdSense ads. But I dont know it all.
No one outside Google does. And for good reason. If it was clear how
Google figured out the content of each website and which ads suit that
site best, theres a good chance that the Web would be filled with sites
created specially to bring in the highest paying ads instead of sites
built to bring in and inform users.
People do try to build sites
for ads not content, but they tend to make less money than high quality
sites that attract loyal users who click on ads.
The fact is, we can make the
most of both AdSense and our own ad space without knowing the
algorithms that Google uses to assign ads and pay sites.
Thats because AdSense is
pretty simple. At the most basic level, AdSense is a service run by
Google that places ads on websites. When you sign up to AdSense, you
agree to take the ads that Google gives you and receive a fee each time
a user clicks on that ad (or for each thousand ad appearances the ad
receives on your site, depending on the type of ad).
The ads themselves come from
another Google service: AdWords.
If you want to understand
AdSense, you will need to understand AdWords.
